Common Medical Emergencies

Hospital Emergency Room (ER) Process

🔹 Triage – Patients are assessed based on urgency.
🔹 Immediate Treatment – Life-saving measures begin.
🔹 Diagnostic Tests – X-rays, CT scans, blood tests.
🔹 Specialist Consultation – If needed for advanced care.
🔹 Admission or Discharge – Depending on condition severity.

Triage System (Priority Levels)

🚨 Red (Immediate) – Life-threatening (heart attack, stroke, severe trauma).
Yellow (Urgent) – Serious but not immediately fatal (fractures, infections).
🔹 Green (Non-Urgent) – Minor injuries or mild symptoms (mild fever, cuts).


When to Go to the Emergency Room?

✔ Chest pain or difficulty breathing.
✔ Uncontrolled bleeding or severe burns.
✔ Loss of consciousness or sudden confusion.
✔ Severe allergic reaction (swelling, difficulty breathing).
✔ Sudden weakness, numbness, or difficulty speaking (possible stroke).
✔ Broken bones, deep cuts, or major trauma.

For less severe conditions, urgent care centers or primary care doctors may be better options.
